Evaluation Methods
Heads Up uses an array of tools to monitor program effectiveness. These data sources help us to develop class groupings, determine if a student is meeting identified goals and assess progress across the entire student population.
Heads Up analyzes:
- Standardized test scores — including the D.C. Comprehensive Assessment System (DC-CAS) and Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS).
- D.C. public school report cards.
- Data from No Child Left Behind.
- Results from surveys of tutors, parents and teachers.
